 Tedder James Worden, an Orlando based accounting firm, retained Ron Pedonti, Principal of Pedonti Webb Studio, to design their new 17,000 SF space on the 17th floor of the Wachovia Bank Building in downtown Orlando.
Mr. Pedonti sought the assistance of Libby Wingard, Business Development with Spectra Central Florida, in selecting the flooring finishes for this project in order to reconcile his design vision with product performance and budget considerations.
When the project went to bid, McCree General Contractors was selected to build out the space. Justin Page, Project Manager with Spectra Central Florida, has always had a good working relationship with McCree. McCree ultimately selected Spectra Central Florida based upon its past experience, and a recommendation from the design consultant, Mr. Pedonti, who had a level of trust that Spectra would deliver a good installation of a complex design incorporating multiple materials.
The project presented some unique challenges in the flooring design including:
- a multi-colored pattern in the breakroom in both the premium VCT and carpet tiles
- pattern insets within the carpet tile in the general office area
- a very striking lobby design that consisted of a bamboo pathway bordered by stone that transitions into a broadloom carpet
Spectra ultimately delivered the job on time and within budget.
